Management in it,s broad term is the engine room of all the driving forces that controls national wealth the world over. The abundant resources available all over the world are being effectively planned,controlled,coordinated and made available for the betterment of the societies by Managers at different levels all over the world. The writer will try to pinpoint some of their unique attributes in the course of this noble profession.

                                          WHO IS A MANAGER?

A manager is the person that coordinates and controls both the Human and material resources in an organization. He,s the person charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the aims and objectives of any organization is realized within the frame of time. The leadership skills acquired over the years helps them in ensuring that the right directives are given to subordinates in their various units or sections through effective communication channels in the organization.

In the most basics terms, a manager is a person who helps others others get more done.

A manager helps others get more done by:

    * motivating them
    * providing directions
    * making sure they are working together toward a common goal
    * removing roadblocks and
    * providing feedback.

The Beginning Manager:

At the beginning, a manager may be responsible for a small team or a small project. Usually, a more senior manager will watch over his or her work. The manager will be expected to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team members, lay out the teams goals, assign work to each member to help to reach that goal, provide them the tools they need, and motivate them to do their part.
